Founded in 1973, SAS Industries began as a gasket manufacture for manhole covers in and around long island from a small storefront. SAS has since grown to be a gasket manufacturer specializing in the defense / aerospace / telecommunications industries, serving many market segments.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant - Shipping - Part Time

Brief Summary:

Answers phones, generates invoicing, shipping, and order entry documentation. Also required to handle customer and supplier communication necessary in procuring and delivering products through the use of electronic and traditional means. This will be accomplished through the use of SAS Industries UNIX systems, UPS, FedEx, and other Freight Carrier software and web applications. General office filing and scanning is also involved.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Prepare customer orders for shipping and invoicing.
2. Expedite orders for ups/fedex.
3. Coordinate and create required documents for customs.
4. Issue invoices for shipments and send.
5. Maintain and follow individual customers instructions for shipping.
6. Record and enter data for incoming purchase orders.
7. Communicating with customers, answering phones, e-mail, scanning, filing, fax.
8. Maintaining clean office area.
9. Maintaining postal meter.
10. End of day, week, month responsibilities. Tally shipments, posting and data back up.
11. Expedite purchase orders.
Also will be required to cross train to fill in for order entry duties when needed.

Requirements:

MUST BE A US CITIZEN. WE CAN NOT EXCEPT WORK VISAS.
Must be detail oriented with good organizational and interpersonal skills. Also must be PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word and Excel. The main system used is a customized UNIX system that you will be trained on. This job is mainly conducted via a computer.

Hours:

Monday – Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Compensation: $13.00/hr (30 hour work week)
